Casteel Creek Ranch is an incredible 250-acre property inside the Vail Valley just outside Edwards, Colorado, USA. Edwards is a small town of just 10,000 people; however, the surrounding area is packed with world-class ski resorts such as Vail and Beaver Creek.
THE HISTORY OF CASTEEL CREEK RANCH
When Robert Levine, co-founder of Cabletron Systems, retired in 1997 at the age of thirty-nine, a lot of people called him “eccentric”. He would, after all, wear ostrich-skin boots, drive around in an armored tank, and owned quite the arsenal, when it came to guns.

In 2001, while enjoying his early retirement, Levine had a mega-mansion designed and built that came to be known as ‘Casteel Creek Ranch.’ The property has so many amenities across the entire ranch that you could never get bored, even with retirement as long as Levines.
In 2022 Casteel Creek Ranch was on the market for $42,000,000. The ranch was listed with the main house, two guest houses, two apartments, a car barn, a recreation center, and much, much more…
CASTEEL CREEK RANCH – THE MAIN RESIDENCE TODAY
The main house at Casteel Creek Ranch is a 30,350-square-foot property clad in wood, copper, glass, steel, and stone. The entrance to the property is reached by a bridge that sweeps through the forest.
The entrance to the property features a dual staircase that leads to a landing with a glass-floor gangway and seating area.
The main residence offers a number of cozy living rooms, all with great views across the surrounding mountains.
The kitchen and dining area leads onto a patio with some of the most incredible views you will ever likely see.

While the recreation center (you’ll see that later in the article) boasts an Olympic-size swimming pool, the main residence also has a spa, hot tub, and indoor pool which leads outside to the grotto.
The house also comes with a fully-equipped gym, theater, and ice cream parlor.
The main residence at Casteel Creek Ranch features a total of eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms.
Much of the outside living space centers around a 200-foot steel cantilevered viewing bridge. The $1 million dollar bridge suspends mid-forest for taking in views of the Sawatch Mountain Range and sounds of the creek below while sipping coffee or cocktails.
COYOTE LODGE
As mentioned earlier, Casteel Creek Ranch has various other buildings on its land, his includes the incredible Coyote Lodge. Coyote Lodge is a five-story tall, 27,850 square-foot building that features a number of recreational activities and a fully stocked trout pond.
Outside you will find a childrens playground and a football (soccer) pitch.
Head inside and you’ll find a swimming pool, games room, shooting gallery, 65-foot climbing wall, baseball arena, and much more.
Other rooms inside Coyote Lodge include a bar, sitting room, kitchen, sauna, and steam room.
WESTERN-THEMED TOWN CENTER
We did mention that Casteel Creek Ranch was the most incredible ranch in the world, didn’t we? Not only do you get a beautiful primary residence and the Coyote Lodge recreation center, but you also get your very own western-themed town center!
The western-themed town features a sheriff’s office and jail, two apartments, an 8-bay garage, and a mudroom to keep all your gear for ATV’s, snowmobiles, etc.
The town also has its own gas station, with both regular and diesel available to keep your toys all gassed up.
RIDGE HOUSE & THE CABIN
As if the above isn’t enough, Casteel Creek Ranch also has two fully functional separate houses on the estate. The first one is Ridge House, which has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a 3-car garage, and an outdoor hot tub.
The second house is The Cabin, which features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage.
