Marvel fans will undoubtedly have seen WandaVision, the story of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olson) and Vision (Paul Bettany) trying to live a fairly normal life in the WandaVision house.

Wandavision debuted in January 2o21, kicking off Marvel Studios’ much anticipated fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Much of the show is centered around their home that mimics classic television sitcoms of past decades.

Anyone who has watched WandaVison, and has a keen eye, may have already recognized the WandaVision house. That’s because the house has appeared on screen a lot. Do you recognise it from any other movies or TV shows?

Have you figured it out yet? It’s even featured here on House &; History!

THE HISTORY OF THE WANDAVISION HOUSE

The WandaVision house can be found on Blondie Street, Burbank, Los Angeles. However, this isn’t on a normal street, it’s actually a private Warner Bros. compound.

Wanda’s house can be seen first on the left; it appeared in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The house on the right was in Small Soldiers, while the second house on the left once belonged to Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon.

Other movies filmed on this street include Hocus Pocus, American Beauty, Pushing Daisies, Bewitched, and many more. If you want to see much more of the house, you can do so here. As we have already covered the history of this house in another post, we won’t be doing it again here.

Below is a scene from The Babysitter (2017); notice the WandaVision house on the left. You may notice some slight changes in the houses; this is because they are changed regularly. Chimneys are added and removed; windows are also added, changed, and removed, while the house also changes colour from time to time.

Another view of Blondie Street, this time in Lethal Weapon, the WandaVision house is just off-screen to the left. The chimney on this house no longer exists.

Blondie Street again, this time in the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

THE WANDAVISION HOUSE IN THE SHOW

Those who have seen WandaVision will know that the interior changes every episode since every episode is filmed in a different decade. The same can be said for the exterior; this also changes every episode, but not so dramatically, as it’s always the same house.

Below you can see the house as it looked in episode 3, painted yellow; notice a garden fence has been added and extra windows on the house itself.

The interior of the WandaVision house would have been filmed entirely on a soundstage. The photos below show how much the interior changes between episodes (and decades). Not only does the decor change but the size and shape of the rooms also change.

As you can see from the photos below, the house changes from 50s and 60s decor to a Brady Bunch 70s style decor before becoming something much more modern.
